Child Safety Standards

Last updated 2 October 2026

Our commitment

Artful Dodger is run by Jackson Carter Ltd. We do not tolerate child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind. This page explains our standards, how to report a concern and what we do about it.

Artful Dodger is only for adults aged 18 and over, but these standards apply to everyone and everything in the app.

What's not allowed

Nobody may use Artful Dodger to sexually exploit, abuse or endanger a child (anyone under 18). This includes:

  • child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any photo, image, video or text that shows or describes the sexual abuse of a child, or that sexualises a child

  • grooming: building a relationship with a child in order to sexually abuse or exploit them

  • sextortion: threatening or pressuring a child to share sexual images, money or anything else

  • trafficking a child, or arranging or advertising the sexual exploitation of a child

  • asking for, sharing or linking to any of the above

This applies to everything in the app, including profile photos, names, @handles, cities and reviews.

Keeping children off Artful Dodger

  • Everyone must confirm they're 18 or over before they can sign in, and give their date of birth when they create a profile. Anyone under 18 can't create a profile.

  • If we find out that someone under 18 has an account, we delete it.

  • Artful Dodger has no private messages or chat.

  • Reviews can't include phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses or web links, which makes it harder for anyone to use the app to contact people they don't know.

How to report a concern

  • In the app: tap Report on the person's page or on the review, choose a reason and tell us what you saw. Reports come straight to us.

  • By email: write to [email protected] with "Child safety" in the subject.

  • If a child is in immediate danger, call 999 in the UK, or your local emergency number.

  • You can also report to CEOP, part of the UK's National Crime Agency, at ceop.police.uk, and report child sexual abuse images found online to the Internet Watch Foundation at report.iwf.org.uk.

What we do

We look at every report within 24 hours. When we find, or are told about, anything that breaks these standards, we:

  • remove the content straight away

  • permanently delete the account of anyone who shared it or behaved that way

  • report child sexual abuse material and suspected exploitation to the National Crime Agency (NCA), and to other authorities, such as the US National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), where the law requires it

  • keep the information the authorities need, securely and only for as long as the law requires, and co-operate fully with the police

We won't tell the person who was reported if that could get in the way of an investigation.

The law

We comply with child safety laws in the UK, including the Protection of Children Act 1978, the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and the Online Safety Act 2023, and with the laws of the other countries where Artful Dodger is available.
